🦷 TEETH DECAY 🦷

〰️ Defined as damage to the tooth, which occurs when bacteria in your mouth forms acid that attacks the tooth’s surface or enamel — aka: a Cavity!

So what causes this bacteria?!!

〰️ A diet high in sugar is the leading cause of cavities. Repeated cycles of sugary foods/drinks cause ‘acid’ to form, which results in the loss of mineral from the tooth’s enamel. Over time, leading to a cavity area.

— SYMPTOMS:

〰️ Toothache 🦷

〰️ Temperature sensitivity (upon hot/cold) 🔥❄️

〰️ Tooth discolouration or brown/ black stains on the tooth surface

〰️ Pain upon biting or your pressure

〰️ Swelling

— POSSIBLE TREATMENTS:

Your dental tip of the day: Don’t wait for these symptoms to occur prior to seeing a dentist. Ensure you attend to your preventative dental visits to catch any cavities before they start! 👍🏼😬

Contact us now to ensure that your teeth decay doesn’t get worse and that it is treated early!

Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy!  It is a tricky time since you have so many things to be mindful of.

On a teeth & oral health level, rest assured most things will be the same.

Teeth and Pregnancy itself is not a huge risk factor for your teeth developing problems. There are a few things to monitor while pregnant:

Things to note

Visiting the dentist

The main thing I’ve found is that new mums are tired with so much to do and the lack of sleep, it’s hard to look after yourself properly. So don’t forget about your own health and wellbeing along with your baby 🙂

As always, contact us here and give us a call or book online to discuss further.
